Carnelian Bay is one of North Lake Tahoe's quieter corners, and this apartment makes the most of it – with a lakeside tennis court where the water stretches out behind the net and shared piers and two private beaches within reach. When you're not on the water, the pine-fringed communal pool and hot tub offer a different kind of Tahoe afternoon. Back inside, a fireplace takes the edge off cooler mountain evenings, and a forest deck with alfresco dining keeps the outdoors close. Lakefront trails and the nearby ski resorts mean there's no shortage of reasons to venture out.

About Carnelian Bay

On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
