A mid-century cabin tucked among tall trees on Whidbey Island, this house has the kind of unhurried pace that takes hold quickly. Vaulted ceilings, warm wood, and a wall of windows pull the surrounding forest right into the living space, while the deck makes an easy place to spend an afternoon in the shade. At low tide, you can walk to nearby tide pools, and the community beach, pool, pickleball, and tennis courts mean there's always something to do – or a reason to do nothing at all.

Home truths
Only the primary bedroom has a door. The twin daybed nook and both loft sleeping areas are open-concept with no doors or private separation.
Some hallways and interior areas are very narrow, with certain spots only wide enough for one person at a time – worth keeping in mind if you're travelling with young children or anyone with mobility needs.
Whidbey Island is home to a naval air base, and you may hear loud jet noise during flight training on some weekdays and occasionally in the evenings. Training doesn't run on weekends or holidays, and the Navy typically publishes the schedule a week in advance so you can plan around it.
Whidbey Island is rural enough that having wheels will make it much easier to reach beaches, towns, and local attractions.
The living room fireplace is not available for use during your stay.
The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the full-size daybed in the loft sleeping area.
