A gated post-and-beam house from 1960, set on nearly an acre of Nichols Canyon, this is architecture that earns its reputation. The double-height living room opens onto a pool terrace wrapped in mature trees, and the canyon presses close enough that evenings around the outdoor fireplace feel removed from city life. A sauna, gym, and chef's kitchen mean there's little reason to leave the grounds – though the Sunset Strip is only a twenty-one-minute drive when you're ready for it.
