An 18th-century Tuscan villa set among the Chianti countryside, this retreat sits in an idyllic spot halfway between Florence and Siena. Afternoons are best spent lounging by the private pool or lingering over alfresco lunches on the terrace – the vineyard and hill views speak for themselves. Inside, you'll find all the historic charm you'd expect – two grand sitting rooms, an array of lavish bedrooms, and plenty of authentic Tuscan touches. The medieval walls of Monteriggioni, San Gimignano's famous towers, and, of course, the Chianti wine estates lie within easy reach, making this a natural base for exploring.

Pets are welcome here, but you'll need to give your host prior notice before bringing one along.
Air conditioning is only available in the ground-floor bedroom and the entire first floor. Thanks to thick stone walls, high ceilings, and natural ventilation, the ground floor remains relatively cool even in the summer.
You'll need a car to make the most of your stay. Staggia Senese sits on the edge of Poggibonsi, and the villages, vineyards, and hill towns of the Chianti are all a drive away. There is ample private parking at the villa.
The twin beds in bedroom five can be joined together to make a double bed – let your host know in advance if you'd prefer that configuration.
For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
The swimming pool is only available to use between April and October.
