Home truths
There's no central air conditioning here — your host provides portable air coolers, and the ocean breeze does most of the work on all but the warmest days.
If you're bringing a dog, be aware that the dense layout of the Strand means there are virtually no grassy patches nearby — the nearest suitable spot is about two blocks away.
You're right on the oceanfront, so expect the sound of the waves to be with you day and night — atmospheric for most guests, though worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper.
Guests who stayed here found the area so walkable and bikeable that many never needed their car — the bikes and beach gear provided by your host make it easy to explore without driving.
You'll need to be able to manage stairs here – it may not suit guests with limited mobility.
