Tucked into the Devon hillside above Combe Martin, this farmhouse is made for group getaways. A private lake with a rowing boat is a hit with families, while the hot tub looks out across the open hillside. The valley-facing terrace is just the spot for sundowners, and a log burner and outdoor fireplace keep things cosy when the temperature drops. Ilfracombe Harbour is a twenty-four-minute drive when the coast calls. For bigger gatherings, the farmhouse can also be rented alongside up to five additional treehouses, accommodating groups of up to fifty guests – just speak with your host when booking.

Home truths

  • You're set in a rural valley outside Combe Martin, so you'll want a car for getting to nearby villages, beaches like Woolacombe, and Exmoor. The setting is a big part of the appeal, but it does mean most errands involve a drive.

  • For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.

  • If you're travelling with little ones, your host can arrange a cot, high chair, and children's dinnerware.

  • There’s a lake on the grounds, so children and pets will need to be supervised at all times.
