Canal-front living in Miami, where the pool sits right on the water's edge and a private dock gives you direct access to Biscayne Bay by kayak or paddleboard. Days here find their own rhythm – cast a line from the dock, spot iguanas and jumping fish from the hammock, then fire up the barbecue for the whole group as the sun drops. When you're ready to venture out, South Beach is roughly a twenty-six-minute drive and Wynwood Walls about twenty-one minutes by car, though it's easy to linger right here.

Home truths
You'll need a car or rideshare to get around – this is a residential waterfront neighbourhood and Miami's main attractions, beaches, and dining are all a drive away.
The driveway fits up to three vehicles, or alternatively one RV plus one car, or one truck with a boat and trailer plus one car.
If you're planning to bring a boat, the private dock can take vessels up to 32 feet with prior approval and at no extra charge – but you'll need to bring your own lines and fenders, and contact your host in advance to confirm your boat can be accommodated.
Pool and lawn maintenance teams will briefly access the outdoor area on set days during your stay – pool service runs every Tuesday and Friday, and lawn service alternates weekly between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
One of the bedrooms has a double-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to four people – we think it might be best suited to children.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair.
