Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Tucked among the pines of Tahoe Donner, this timber lodge house is built for groups who want to do it all and still come home to somewhere worth returning to. The covered hot tub earns its keep in every season, the deck is made for alfresco lunches after a morning on the trails, and a dedicated game room – air hockey, pool, shuffleboard, foosball – means evenings rarely run short of ideas. Northstar California is 12 miles away, Palisades Tahoe 16, and Historic Downtown Truckee is just minutes by car.

Home truths
If you're planning to drive up in winter, your vehicle will need to be 4WD or AWD with snow tires or chains – the area can see a very high snow load and mountain roads require it.
The wi-fi here will likely feel slower than you're used to at home – it works, but factor that in if you're planning to work remotely or stream heavily during your stay.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
While the home can sleep up to fourteen people, the maximum occupancy is ten guests.
The sixth bedroom is arranged with a queen-over-queen bunk – we think it's best suited to a group of children.

About Truckee
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
