Set within three acres of landscaped grounds near Crediton, this manor is built for big gatherings done properly. The heated outdoor pool is open from May to September, and beyond it the Devon hills roll out in every direction – the kind of outlook that makes it hard to head back inside. When you do, there's a cinema room, a bar area, and a gym, plus a tennis court, putting green, and hot tub outside. A clay pizza oven and alfresco dining area round things out for evenings under the open sky.

Home truths
While one of the bedrooms and two of the bathrooms aren't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
Bedroom six is on the ground floor but shares the upstairs family bathroom, so guests sleeping in there will need to head upstairs to shower or bathe.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.
The swimming pool is only available for use between May and September.
The hot tub is emptied, cleaned, and refilled between bookings, so it may not be at its optimal temperature when you first arrive – factor in a little warming-up time.
You'll need a car to reach the manor and to get around the area – the nearest towns and beaches are a drive away rather than walkable from the estate. Private parking is available.
Three additional guests may be able to be accommodated on sofa beds with prior approval from your host.
