Three hundred years of history live in this Grade II listed Queen Anne house on a quiet cobbled street in Stepney Green – and the detail bears it out. A sweeping entrance hall with a wide wooden staircase sets a characterful tone, while the kitchen diner and characterful living room feel like rooms that have been well-loved rather than staged. The main bathroom, with its claw-footed iron bathtub, is a particular highlight. Stepney Green Tube is a three-minute walk, and the Elizabeth Line at Whitechapel puts the West End around fifteen minutes away.

Home truths
This is a multi-storey home with stairs at every level, starting with stone steps up to the front door – there is no lift. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, it's worth bearing that in mind before booking.
There is no air conditioning here, though fans will be provided in summer. The thick historic walls do help keep things cooler than you might expect.
This is a lived-in home. You should expect some of the host's personal belongings to be present during your stay.
Two rooms on the top floor are locked for storage, and the basement is off-limits during your stay – though it can be accessed in an emergency. You'll have full use of the rest of the house.
Two cats usually live at this home. They won't be around during your stay, but this means it may not be suitable for people with severe allergies.
