Few apartments in Rome can match the setting here – a living room lined with original frescoes and gilded details inside the 16th-century Palazzo Borghese. You reach it by passing through Martino Longhi's grand internal courtyard, framed by one hundred granite columns, fountains, and statues, with access to a secluded courtyard garden that tourists can only photograph from beyond the gates. It's an extraordinary address, and the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza di Spagna are all within walking distance. Inside, an indoor hot tub feels like a surprising find given the centuries-old surroundings.

Home truths

  • At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.

  • The Jacuzzi bathtub is in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, so it's open to the sleeping space and privacy is limited.

  • The living room faces the street, and Rome's Campo Marzio neighbourhood gets going early – you may notice activity from around 5am if you're a light sleeper. The bedroom, which faces the courtyard, is considerably quieter.

  • There's no parking at the palazzo and no private spaces nearby, so we recommend arriving by taxi or public transport.

About Pantheon

Pantheon is usually thronged with architectural and religious pilgrims, all on the hunt for the church. This fascination, which comes both from sheer wonder, and also a more complex response to a temple that has been dedicated to a variety of creeds, has understandably packed the surrounding streets with sellers of tat and bad ice cream. This is one of Rome's loudest areas, with the restaurants and bars staying open...

Host

This home is managed by Burghesius

This home is managed by a business on behalf of its owner. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Burghesius is led by sister Lavinia and brother Gregorio Borghese. Starting a business with a sibling might seem bold — but for us, it felt natural. Together, we set out to create something genuinely different: a new standard of luxury. From Rome, to Tuscany, and beyond. With years of experience in hospitality and property management, we understood that the modern traveller seeks more than a place to stay. They seek a feeling, a rhythm, a home that blends comfort, character, and discretion.
