Perched in the Nauset Heights enclave of East Orleans, this Cape Cod home is oriented entirely around the Atlantic – from the ocean-view living room to the two elevated decks where you can watch waves roll in and, occasionally, spot whale spouts on the horizon. Outside, a patio and lawn catch the afternoon sun, and a short walk brings you down to the beach via a private association stairway. Inside, walls of windows and high ceilings keep the sea close no matter where you are in the home.

The beach access stairway is shared with the neighbourhood association rather than exclusively attached to this home, so you'll take a short walk down the road before descending to the sand. It's a gentle, five-minute stroll each way – factor that in when loading up with beach gear.
