Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
A quiet, well-connected neighbourhood near the Vatican makes this a smart base for Rome, with the Vatican Museums a thirty-minute walk away and St Peter's Basilica reachable in about forty minutes on foot. The apartment itself is bright and modern, with two balconies that earn their keep – whether you're lingering over breakfast or winding down with an aperitif. A dedicated study room with a desk and sofa bed adds flexibility for anyone working remotely or travelling with an extra guest, and the air conditioning makes warm Roman days considerably more comfortable.

About Valle Aurelia
Valle Aurelia is directly behind the Vatican, but you’d never guess from the number of tourists. Perhaps the nickname, Valle dell’Inferno (Valley of Hell) is enough to put them off. Rest assured though, it’s not a comment on the place, rather a reference to the presence of enormous furnaces in the area, which were in use up until the 1920s. It was the heart of metalworking, clay firing and brickmaking in Rome for centuries, and this instilled a vibrant working-class character to the neighbourhood, which endures today.
