Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

You’d be forgiven for mistaking this Kensington home for an elegant country cottage. With its rustic, traditional stylings – like the gingham headboard in the master bedroom and the rococo chairs surrounding the farmhouse table in the kitchen – there’s a definite feeling of rural calm in this city townhouse. Set across four floors, you’ll have plenty of space to tuck yourself away for some quiet time alone with a good book, while the main living room – with its polished, antique mahogany furnishings, striking oil paintings and stately porcelain ornaments – invites sophisticated socials over afternoon tea or evening drinks. Our favourite feature of this beautiful home, though, is the private rooftop terrace. Climb the ladder that leads you into a cosy second sitting room, and open up the French doors to step out onto this leafy outdoor haven. Take a seat on the bench while soaking up the morning rays with your coffee or head up here in the evenings to watch the sunset over Kensington’s rooftops, a glass of bubbly in hand. While the quiet serenity of your idyllic retreat may have you, still, convinced you’re in a country getaway, you need only step out of your...

Local guide

About Kensington

Affluent and incredibly central, Kensington is a great base for exploring London on foot. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are on your doorstep and so are the Victoria and Albert, Science, and Natural History Museums. The streets are attractive and well maintained (grand, white stucco facades aplenty) and your neighbours will be a wealthy, conservative set. Lots of positives but probably not the place to let your hair down.
