In addition to the artfully thrown together look so common in the French capital, there's a strong East Asian influence, with hints of North Africa and perhaps a sprinkling of South America? The Bed-Stuy neighbourhood is both attractive and historic, full of beautiful brownstones along tree-lined streets. It was the centre of New York's civil rights movement and now houses some of the most innovative independent businesses in the city for you to discover. If Manhattan is on your itinerary, then you're just over a five-minute walk from the A/C train at Utica and around twenty-five minutes into the heart of the financial district.
