Hidden behind a classic, salmon-pink facade with green wood shuttered windows, is a sleek and modern apartment for two (or perhaps a solo traveller). Halfway between the Spanish Steps and the Colosseum, this place puts the major sights of ancient Rome within easy strolling distance, alongside streets filled with carbonara-hawking trattorias and gelato shops. In one direction, it’s a fifteen-minute walk to the Spanish Steps, and fifteen minutes in the other direction sees you at the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Inside, you’ll find a living space the colour of pastel sunsets, alongside a sleek monochrome kitchen. Traditional Roman windows let the sunlight stream in during the day, and marble-effect tiles keep things cool underfoot. The big sumptuous bed was made for a peaceful night’s sleep, but the real draw is the location in the heart of Rome.
