The vast window in this apartment's living room beautifully frames the Tiber, and the willows that line its banks. There’s also a balcony, allowing you to get even closer to the river. It shouldn’t be underestimated just how special a view like this is. The flat itself is characterful but well-kept. We're big fans of the quirky touches, including cowprint chairs and the entryway's bronze bust statue. There’s also a bit of noise from the road below, but that comes from being only a five-minute walk from the heart of the action. If you're after a cosy base for sightseeing, this is it.

Local guide
About Navona
Stretching from Piazza Navona to the river, the area is one of the most atmospheric in the city. The Piazza, with its Bernini statues and Borromini church, is the main draw, but there are any number of golden palazzos, many with inner courtyards to explore. The area is sliced in two by Corso Vittorio Emmanuele, one of Rome's most frenetic roads, but you can dive down the nearest sides street...

Host
This home is managed by Federica
This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Alessandro’s as Roman as they come – in fact his family have lived in this very building for a century and a half, though they now rent parts of it out to travellers. He’s happy to have long stays, though get in touch with him before booking anything over two months, so he can let you know if the place will be available.
