Close to the Plaza España, this cosy apartment make a great base for exploring Barcelona. It's on the smaller side, with the second bedroom up on the mezzanine – we think this is best for children, as the ceiling is low and the mattresses are on the floor. The views from the balcony aren't the most inspiring, but the location makes this home shine. If you're driving, your host can help you park in the busy city, and locations like the Spotify Camp Nou and Parc de la Ciutadella are an easy bus ride or drive away.

Home truths

There are steps to reach the mezzanine and the entrance, so this home may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

The twin single beds on the mezzanine don't have bedsteads and are just mattresses on the ground – we think these are best suited to children or teens. The mezzanine ceiling is also quite low so won't be suitable for taller guests, and doesn't get much natural light.

This home is in an apartment building in a central location – some noise is to be expected from neighbours and from the streets, so

The kitchen is very small, so it might not be the best choice if you're planning family meals in. That said, you've got the pick of Barcelona's restaurants nearby.
