In Denmark, rich and deep blue is associated with the royal family, so it’s only fitting that a home to close to Amalienborg is heavily adorned with the regal colour. The head-turning hue is paired with artworks by local artist, Augusta Atla, and twenty-first-century Danish design by HAY and Sofakompagniet for a take on contemporary Danish style. Even though it’s not luxurious, Emma is well-decorated and feels homely – and you’re in a central location that’s hard to beat.

Home truths
When we visited, we saw some scuff marks on the walls
There’s currently a lot of fake flowers in the home, which might not be to everyone’s taste
It is located on the second floor with no elevator, so be prepared for some up and down
The wi-fi isn’t as fast as we would like it to be
We also noticed stains on some of the furniture when we visited
The kitchen is small and only really suitable for preparing light meals
There is not a lot of space for hanging your clothes in the bedrooms
Guest 7 would be on a sofa bed in the living room
There is a crib available, but it comes with an additional fee of 150DKK
