With the transparent furniture and luminous communal area, Mister Sunshine’s got a distinctly modern feel. It’s located in a beautifully restored 1920s building on Allenby Street, but despite the immediate neighbourhood being on the grey side, it’s still not too far from the sea or buzzing Carmel Market. Although it’s not the most unique home in our collection, it has its share of bright pops of colour and high ceilings that effectively liven up the home.

Home truths
This home is located on a particularly noisy stretch of Allenby Street
Functional solutions have been prioritised over design
Even though the see-through window fills bedroom two with lots of natural light - it won’t be to everyone's liking to have a transparent wall between the bedroom and communal areas
When we visited, we noticed a couple of scuff marks on some of the walls
The kitchen is on the smaller side, and won’t be suitable for cooking up a storm
The bathroom is a bit tired-looking - the grouting on the shower curtain, in particular, could do with a bit of attention
Guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in bedroom two
Guests 5 and 6 would be on a sofa bed in the living room

About Kerem Hateimanim
Nestled in between the Carmel Market and the beach, you'll find Kerem Hateimanim, a small neighbourhood founded by Yemeni immigrants in the 1930s. It’s come a long way since then, and today it’s been taken over by bohemian Tel-Avivians looking for affordable housing. Even though Kerem Hateimanim is in the process of being gentrified, the neighbourhood hasn’t lost the authentic, village-like feel that’s beloved by many. There are still plenty of the original Yemenite restaurants around, which are worth a visit, even if you don’t end up staying in this part of the city.
