Vetted by our experts

This laid-back apartment is located in the hip neighbourhood of East Village. Just twelve minutes from the East River Park and a six-minute stroll to the 1st Avenue subway stop, this home has both nature and the city at its disposal. In this typical brick building (complete with the classic exterior metal stairs), it definitely has an East Village personality – there’s a café on the ground floor, a yoga studio further up, then the third floor is this cool and quirky flat. We love the exposed brickwork in the open-plan living room, bringing that quintessential New York apartment vibe. While it’s a fairly cosy space with understated furniture, the decor really offers a sense of what your host loves...

Staying in Alphabet City

Alphabet City is located in the eastern part of the uber-cool East Village. It may once have been considered dangerous - and it definitely still retains a slightly gritty feel in parts - but today it is mainly filled with a mix of affluent New Yorkers, NYU students and longtime arty residents. This mix gives Alphabet City a personality that runs deep no matter how many new buildings spring up....

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay.

When not hosting, David works in film and music. He and his wife look after the flat together (she’s actually a yacht builder most of the time), and they’re really lovely.
