It's unpretentious and wears its grub on its sleeve, but the area has a real sense of community and there are some real gems here too: the almshouses, the pockets of protected Georgian houses, the wonderful Genesis independent cinema and not forgetting the Stepney City Farm, a must for any groups with young children.
