If ever there was a home to drop you into the heart of nature, this is it – if you’re lucky, you may even see some wild deer and boar skirting around the edge of the garden. With tranquillity running through its core and fuss-free interiors, this is somewhere to switch off and relax. There’s not even a TV to distract you. Soak up the views and Tuscan sun on the terrace, cool off in the private pool, or take a hike (quite literally) from your doorstep to revel in the beauty of the local area.

Home truths
We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. Access is via an unpaved, uneven road which is steep in places – a high-clearance vehicle is recommended.
Your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
The swimming pool, open from June to September (weather permitting), isn't fenced. If you're bringing children, they'll need to be supervised at all times.
All bedrooms can be set up as doubles or twins on request.
The first floor is reached via an external staircase.
There's no central heating here, however, logs are provided for the wood burner. There's also no air conditioning here, but there are ceiling fans.
You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob.
