Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

This apartment caught our eye for its luscious hill views, especially with a private balcony to soak them up from. Located in a tiny hamlet (there are no amenities here), so you’ll need a car to pick up groceries in the spa town of Bagni di Lucca, a short drive away. While it’s not the most luxurious home in our collection and there’s no air conditioning here, the higher altitude offers a cool environment and stand-out views. The remote location is what makes this place so peaceful, though if you feel like socialising, the complex has a shared pool and dining terrace. The hamlet is less than an hour's drive from Lucca – perfect for day trips.

Home truths

Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to maximise your stay. There is free parking at the home.

This home is located within a building of apartments. Expect to bump into other guests during your stay. While you'll have a private balcony here, the dining terrace and swimming pool are shared with the building's other residents.

You'll need to climb some steps to reach this first-floor apartment, and also to access the pool on the lower level. This may not suit those with limited mobility.

The pool is only available for use between May and September. It isn't fenced, so children will need to be supervised at all times. If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free.

The term “Rolling hills” could have been coined here, where grapes ripen on vines in the folds of the valleys and ancient towns crown hilltops. Florence, with its fairytale ancient buildings, dramatic Ponte Vecchio over the river Arno, and Rennaisance collections in the Uffizi Gallery, has always been a big...
