One block from the beach on the Balboa Peninsula, this house delivers the kind of laid-back California coastal experience that's hard to manufacture. Vaulted ceilings and large windows pull in the light during the day, and come evening, the backyard is the place to be – a hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor bar make it easy to linger long after sunset. Bicycles are on hand for exploring the boardwalk, and the Balboa Island ferry, Newport Pier, and whale-watching are all within easy reach.

Since the photoshoot, the outdoor furniture has been updated with new seating. We are awaiting new photographs of this space, but expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
This home is set over two floors, so you'll need to be able to climb stairs here.
The Jacuzzi bathtub in the main bathroom currently only functions as a bathtub as the jets don't work.
You might need to wait two to three minutes for the shower upstairs to get hot.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair at no additional cost. You'll need to request them in advance.
Though there's free garage parking here, it's only suitable for two small cars or one medium to large car.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
