Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Tucked at the end of a long private driveway in the wooded hills of the Berkshires, this hand-built log cabin trades the expected rustic formula for something livelier – a colourful kitchen and contemporary decor sit happily alongside a brick fireplace and forest views from every window. The covered outdoor dining area and large deck make it easy to eat, linger, and do very little among the trees. When you're ready to venture out, Great Barrington's restaurants and shops are a ten-minute drive away, and the Norman Rockwell Museum and Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center are well within reach.

Home truths
You'll need a car to get around here. The home sits at the end of a long private driveway in a rural wooded setting, and Great Barrington is a ten-minute drive away for groceries, dining, and day-to-day errands.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot and, with at least twenty-four hours' notice, a high chair. It's worth requesting both before you arrive.
This is a rural, wooded setting, so you can expect to encounter insects and wildlife – particularly in warmer months. It's part of the Berkshires experience, but worth packing accordingly.

Some very important historical sites are here, in fact, you could say the United States as a nation began in Massachusetts. From the beginnings of the American Revolution, to some very important writers and philosophers, as well as examples of early-American architecture, your sightseeing list will be VERY long! Some impressive universities are also...
