Tucked among the pines on the outskirts of Bend, this five-bedroom house is built for groups who want nature on their doorstep without sacrificing comfort. The living room looks out across the treetops, and a fireplace makes evenings feel earned after a day on the mountain. Outside, a hot tub deck and alfresco dining area give the group plenty of reasons to linger. When the weather turns or the energy dips, a games room with a pool table and ping pong table keeps everyone occupied. Bend's breweries, trails, and skiing at Mount Bachelor are all within reach.

Home truths
You can fit four cars on the driveway, though there's no garage. Note that studded tyres are not permitted on the driveway, so plan accordingly if you're visiting in winter conditions.
At full occupancy, you'll need to make use of two rollaway beds here. We think they're best suited to children.
If you're travelling with little ones, a pack-n-play travel crib is already included, and your host can provide a high chair with at least 24 hours' notice.
Air conditioning is only available on the upper floor, so the downstairs living areas will warm up on hotter days.
The fireplace is included but firewood is not – you'll need to source or purchase it locally before settling in for the evening.
The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
