Perched above Lake Tahoe with picture windows framing the water on every turn, this lakefront house earns its views rather than just promising them. The wrap-around patio among the pines is where you'll spend most of your time – soaking in the hot tub as the lake stretches out ahead, or dining above the treeline as the light fades. Inside, high ceilings and a generous living space give ten guests room to breathe, while the games room – foosball, pool table, shuffleboard – comes into its own on slower days. North Tahoe Beach is close by when the pull of the water gets too strong.

Home truths
Outdoor furniture, the barbecue, and other exterior amenities are only set up between Memorial Day and Labor Day. If you're visiting outside that window, the wrap-around patio and hot tub terrace will be available, but the outdoor dining and grilling setup won't be.
Due to local wildfire regulations, outdoor wood burning, fire pits, and charcoal grills are strictly prohibited at this home. If you're planning evening gatherings outside, the hot tub terrace is your go-to spot.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair – the high chair requires at least twenty-four hours' advance notice. It's worth flagging your needs before arrival so everything is ready when you get there.
Events may be held here, though you'll be limited to fifteen guests.

About Tahoe Vista
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
