A grand Hudson Valley estate set on rolling lawns above the river, this Catskill house delivers the kind of scale that makes a large group feel at ease. Arched windows and antique wood floors run through the communal spaces, while multiple lounges and a games room mean 24 guests can spread out without ever feeling crowded. Outside, the walled pool garden, a fire pit terrace facing the water, and a lower-level hot tub overlooking the Hudson give the evenings real depth – and when dusk settles over the river, it's hard to be anywhere but outside.

Home truths

  • Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. Ample parking is available.

  • This is a historic home, so you'll notice some character quirks underfoot and overhead. Flooring may be uneven in places, there's a spiral staircase leading to the fourth floor, and the third-floor catwalk has large openings in the railings.

  • The home runs on a water well system with limited capacity, so if your group is showering at the same time you may trigger a temporary outage. It restores itself in around thirty minutes, but it's worth staggering shower times when everyone's getting ready at once.

  • The pool is unheated and closed during the winter months, typically reopening around mid-May.

  • The fireplace is non-operational and the pavilion on the estate is currently under construction and off-limits during your stay.

  • Your host can provide a travel cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.
