Perched on a coastal bluff in secluded Arch Cape, this house is built around the Pacific – wall-to-wall windows frame storm-fronts and sunsets in equal measure, and the ocean-facing deck with a barbecue is the natural place to land with a drink as waves break below. A stairway cuts down the hillside to a limited-access beach that sees few visitors, while Hug Point's sea caves, tide pools, and waterfall are a one-minute drive away. Cannon Beach's galleries and shoreline are about eleven minutes by car when you want a change of scene.

The path down to the beach involves steep stairs and exposed tree roots, so it requires a reasonable level of sure-footedness – take your time and wear sensible footwear.
There's no air conditioning here, so summer stays rely on ocean breezes and the shade of the surrounding forest to keep things cool.
Shops, restaurants, and grocery stores are a 5-mile drive away, so we recommend stocking up on arrival. There's also a sharp turn coming off Highway 101 when driving to the villa, so take it steady on the approach.
