We love the vistas over the River Douro and the Gaia district from this home’s Juliet balconies and bedroom windows. Whilst the apartment is housed in a building dating from the 18th century, it’s been completely renovated inside. One thing to note, though, at full capacity, two people will be on a sofa bed in the living space. Situated in one of Porto’s picturesque districts, Ribeira – this apartment boasts an enviable location too. You’ll find a maze of cobbled medieval alleys, cosy bars, and eateries serving traditional cuisine. Attractions nearby include the iconic D. Luís Bridge and the beautiful Bolsa Palace.

Home truths

This home is located within an apartment building, with a shared entrance.

Guests three and four would be on a sofa bed in the living room – if you're looking for a home with ample space for socialising, we'd recommend this home for two guests only.

The only bathroom is the main bedroom's en-suite. Guests staying in the living room will need to use it, which may not suit those looking for more privacy.

Given the home's central location, you may hear some street noise. Light sleepers may wish to pack earplugs.

The lounge is somewhat overlooked by the building opposite. There's a chance you might see neighbours through the window.

If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for free on advance request.

The river’s edge has a great view of the historic city buildings tucked into the hill. From its waterfront cafes and bars you can see the picturesque suburb of Ribeira while swerving the crowds.
