But if that's not enough, you can take in the panoramic views of the city – including the National Pantheon – from the communal rooftop terrace. Back inside, the modern design is sleek and stylish, with lots of natural light and cosy spots to unwind. When you feel like cooking, the glossy kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a meal and the living room's fireplace is perfect for chilly evenings. And we loved the welcome basket on arrival, filled with a bottle of white wine, fresh fruit and delicious Portuguese custard tarts. Location-wise, you're a little outside the bustling city centre, but it's still an excellent spot to base yourself. Restaurants and museums are just a stone's throw away, while Castelo de S. Jorge is twenty minutes on foot. But with Santa Apolónia Station a three-minute walk away, getting around the rest of the city is a breeze – you can be in Praça do Comércio in five minutes, flat.
