At the foot of Castelo de Ferragudo, this former carriage house is now a contemporary retreat in the heart of town. Not only are you close to restaurants, nightlife and shops in the city centre, but you're also a mere two-minute walk from Praia Grande beach. You'd never be able to tell this home's history from the sleek and modern interiors. There's plenty of room, but we think it's a tight fit for all sixteen guests – especially since some of the bedrooms are on the smaller side. Outside is a sparkling pool and alfresco dining space. Why not kick your holiday up a notch and hire a private chef to do all the cooking for you?

If you're travelling with little ones, your host can arrange a cot and high chair on request. The pool isn’t fenced, so children will need to be supervised at all times.
This home is set over two floors, with no internal lift. However, there are four ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms here. The other four bedrooms are upstairs.
Some of the double beds may be made up of two single mattresses pushed together.
While there's enough room for all sixteen guests around the indoor dining table, the outdoor table only fits eight.
You won't need a car to explore Ferragudo, but we suggest one for adventures further afield. There's private parking for up to four cars here.
