Surrounded by undulating hills covered in olive trees and sweet-scented pines, this villa offers a scenic Algarve getaway. One of six villas in the valley, you’ll find a private pool and a shaded dining area, perfect for alfresco barbecues. The ground floor twin room offers direct access to the patio area, while the main bedroom on the upper floor has a picturesque balcony with views over the hills. The decor is rustic with beamed ceilings and natural materials, providing a traditional setting if not the most luxurious – however, the rural vistas more than make up for any missing bells and whistles. When you need to stock up on supplies, the village of Picota is 5 kilometres away, while Tavira – with its shops, restaurants and beach – is 11 kilometres from your door.

Home truths

This home is laid out over two floors with a narrow winding internal staircase leading up to the main bedroom on the upper floor. The twin bedroom is on the ground floor with direct patio access.

While the pool is gated, the area around it is narrow with a steep drop. Children should be minded at all times when by the pool.

There's a dedicated desk in the twin room should you need to catch up on work. Alternatively, the dining table can also serve as a laptop-friendly workspace.

We recommend having a car here to get the most out of your stay. On-site parking is available, though please note that access to the villa is via 2.5km of unsurfaced rough track. For basic provisions, Picota is 5km away where you'll find a supermarket.
