Perched alongside rolling hills, this two-storey home is an idyllic retreat ideal for families. Inside, locally-sourced limestone flagstones and wooden beams provide Tuscan flavour, while the Juliette balconies upstairs are nice touches. Outside, the pool and alfresco dining area are perfect spots for vista reflection. For an additional fee, the home can also include a small exterior building with a double bed and shower (but no WC) – perfect if you're travelling with another couple who don't want fancy sleeping on bunk beds. Three kilometres downhill will bring you to a nearby village with a restaurant, and you'll find the spa town of Bagni di Lucca (10km away) and the Renaissance city of Lucca (35km) in the local area.

Home truths

The frame for the bed in the main bedrooms is a little on the lighter side. It might creek when you roll over at night.

The bunk bedroom includes a portable AC unit, while the main bedroom has built-in AC.

The pool may only be available to use between April and October – please speak to your host for the exact opening and closing dates. It isn't fenced. If you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times.

Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There’s free parking here. The location means you also might find that the phone signal is patchy from time to time.

There’s a buzzy nightlife scene centred around cool enotecas and craft beer bars. On Via Fillungo, you’ll find some of Lucca’s finest boutiques, with high-end...
