This Grade II-listed stone cottage packs a characterful punch. Some may find the interiors a tad too traditional, but the lounge is utterly cosy – especially with a fire roaring in the wood burner – and the roll-top bath is the perfect end to a busy day. Outside, a courtyard garden is a sweet bonus, although it's not the prettiest patio in our collection. Location-wise, St Davids may be Britain's smallest city, but it's full of adventures. Take your pick between hikes along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (a ten-minute walk away), beach days at Whitesands (reachable in two miles), and tours of the famous 12th-century cathedral (mere steps from the front door).
