Overlooking Porthleven's harbour, this charming upside-down cottage has its bedrooms on the ground floor and the living area upstairs, so you can enjoy the views. The garden is spacious and we think it's great for families, but the uneven ground might make it difficult to navigate for guests with reduced mobility. Even indoors there's plenty of space so things won't feel crowded, even at full occupancy. The nearest pub and restaurant are within walking distance, and a car isn't necessary for catching some sun at the beach.

Home truths

There is space to park up to two cars outside this home.

This home used to allow pets, but no longer does. Previous to 2022, pets may have been present in the home a number of times.

Your host can provide a travel cot for free, but you'll need to bring bedding for it.

There are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms here, one of which is located in the annexe. The small single bed is best suited to children.

The garden is sloping and uneven, so walking on it may be difficult for some guests.

The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.

Regular towels are provided, but you'll need to bring your own beach towels.

Due to the location, phone signal might be patchy at times.

The town is a popular seaside destination with one of the best food scenes in Cornwall – Michael Caines has a restaurant here. Aside from its culinary offering, Britain’s most southerly port is known for its boat-filled harbour, pretty Victorian terraces, and 70-foot-high,...
