Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Coral Steel's greatest strength is the location. Only minutes away from the oldest (and if you believe the locals, the best) chocolate shop in town, a huge food market, and the famous Puerta del Sol, this home will make sightseeing effortless. The square footage might not be the biggest, but the minimalist Scandi-inspired furnishings and playful textures do a good job at freeing up space while keeping it interesting. Our favourite? The long exposed brick wall that connects the kitchen to the living room.

Local guide
About Opera y Palacio Real
The small neighbourhood of Opera y Palacio Real sits next to the Royal Palace and its grand squares with manicured gardens. It’s also home to El Teatro Royal, the grand opera house. This part of town has an abundance of space and is far less busy than other parts of central Madrid – the calmness of the area makes it popular with families. You’ll find high-end local shops to peruse, as well as excellent restaurants, in this refined and sedate neighbourhood.

Local restaurants, cafes, museums, sites and activities, recommended by our community of hosts and travel experts
See the postcard sights at Puerta del Sol
From the famous Tio Pepe sign to the statue of Charles III, Puerta del Sol offers some of Madrid's most famous sights in one place.
Dine in a former convent at Café de Oriente
Located in the vaulted basement of the former San Gil convent, this unique restaurant serves traditional Spanish food. You can also dine upstairs in the cafe with palace views.
See a show at Madrid’s opera house at Teatro Real
Founded in 1818, this unique European opera house puts on productions with famous names from at home and abroad. Come and see what's on!
Indulge in churros at San Ginés
Churros in Madrid are almost compulsory. We recommend San Ginés, one of the oldest chocolate shops in the city.
Indulge in unique flavours at La Mallorquina
La Mallorquina is one of the emblematic bakeries of Madrid, serving delicious pastries and cakes.
Learn all about jamón at Museo del Jamón
Originally founded by the Muñoz brothers, Museo del Jamón is popular for the sheer sight of hundreds of hams dangling from the ceiling. If you're into cured meats, come along.
Eat, shop, walk and explore Plaza Mayor
With some of the most emblematic sights of Madrid, Plaza Mayor should be the first thing to see on your list.
Listen to underground music at Cafe Berlin
This typical underground concert hall is a great spot to find live bands and a guaranteed great atmosphere in the centre of Madrid.
Get your avo toast at La Rollerie
A locally recommended brunch café with a beautiful interior. La Rollerie has a good variety of breakfasts and an outside terrace for those want their eggs al fresco.
Mingle with like-minded foodies at San Miguel market
Originally built in 1916, this market encapsulates the contemporary essence of all the types of Spanish cuisine–and with over 10 million visitors a year, it's a real gastronomic hub.
Visit the Convent of las Descalzas Reales
Rich widows and unmarried daughters used to bring their dowries when they joined, and it was forbidden to sell or display such treasures. Visit the few remaining nuns and curiosities.
