Located in the heart of El Born — Barcelona's epicentre of cool — this apartment is surrounded by exclusive boutiques, hip bars open late into the night and the Picasso Museum, which is only four minutes' walk away. Inside the home, we admired the rustic touches left in after a recent renovation, particularly the exposed brickwork and wooden beams. You can instantly tell it will be a lovely place to escape the midday sun, with the delicate curtains on either side of the French doors fluttering about in the breeze and the parquet floor running throughout feeling cool to the touch on bare feet. When you fancy soaking up some rays, however, the building has a communal roof terrace complete with seats, a dining table and a charming view over the city's rooftops.
