El Born’s mix of historic streets, independent boutiques, and lively cocktail bars makes it popular with both tourists and locals. Where 21st-century Barcelona meets old-world Catalan architecture, this hip apartment mirrors the vibe of the locale. A seven-minute walk from the Parc de la Ciutadella and seventeen from the sands of Barceloneta Beach, you’ve got the great outdoors as well as fabulous interiors. As you step inside, you’ll immediately be wowed by gorgeous original features – think exposed stone walls, chunky timber beams, and balconettes overlooking the barrio's medieval streets. Then its modern side comes through understated furnishings such as grey linen sofas and industrial-style metal dining chairs. And we love how the lounge is cleverly situated on a corner, offering light from multiple angles through huge, floor-to-ceiling windows. It feels more like a solarium than a living room. Grab an ice-cold drink from the minibar and head upstairs. You can really sprawl out on this communal roof terrace, where loungers and alfresco dining spots make an ideal setting for a bowl of olives and a bottle of Catalan wine. There’s even an outdoor shower up here, just in case you need to freshen up on a sun-soaked afternoon.

About Barcelona
Although there’s no disputing that Barcelona is a truly global city, it’s still a destination that’s fiercely proud of its local culture and heritage. As you wander the streets, you’ll quickly come to see why this is the case. The dazzling array of architecture on display is like no other, from the modernist masterpieces of Antoni Gaudí and the winding alleyways in the Gothic Quarter to the visionary residential blocks...

This is probably the greenest oasis in all of Barcelona. Created as the city's first public park in the mid 19th Century, it's a lovely place to while away an afternoon.

Discover the beauty of Santa Maria del Mar
This imposing basilica in the Ribera district was built at the height of Principality of Catalonia's maritime and mercantile preeminence – an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture.

Enjoy great Mexican food at Oaxaca Cuina Mexicana
Chef Joan Bagur trained in Mexico for a decade under traditional cooks, and has his own garden of Mexican plants at the restaurant. The guacamole is truly sublime!

In the heart of Barcelona, there's a place where time stands still. This luxurious spa in a converted warehouse offers an unforgettable, almost surreal experience for the mind, body, and soul.

Start your day at Alsur Cafè
This cosy and popular local haunt is famous for being a great brunch spot. And by brunch, we mean all day.

Check out The History Museum of Catalonia
Trace Catalan history from its origins to the present day and enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the Barceloneta port and city from the terrace.

Eat brunch outside at Brunch & Cake by The Sea
Everything at Brunch & Cake is made by hand, and their slogan is 'In grandmothers we trust!' There's lots of outdoor space, so it's the ideal spot for a coffee or snack in the sun.

Pay a visit to the Museum of the History of Barcelona
Walk through what remains of the actual streets and buildings of Roman Barcino - you'll see vats for fermenting grape juice, a Roman commercial laundry, and lots more!

Wander through Santa Catarina Market
This local favourite has been completely renovated with a majestic roof a la Gaudí. Aside from delicious fresh produce, there are several tapas stalls to stop by.

Connect with your wild side at the zoo
Barcelona Zoo is located in the Parc de la Ciutadella. Probably most famous for having been home to Snowflake, the only known albino gorilla.

Check out some art at Ana Yael Gallery
There are many galleries in this neighbourhood, and this is one of them. It's a lovely space which tends to show work with a playful, humorous sensibility.
