Combining the shell of an old industrial building with folk art and stylish mid-century modern furniture, this eclectic loft-style home provides the ideal base for a couple or solo traveller looking to be within easy reach of Los Angeles’ most exciting sights. Rustic charm meets snazzy sophistication in this open-plan space, with cool original features (think steel doors, beamed ceilings and concrete floors) giving it plenty of character. We love how the layout gives this home a real sense of largesse, while the soft furnishings and wooden accents lend it a sense of warmth and cosiness. Open up the large front doors to step out onto a communal patio where a fire pit and comfortable seating invite memorable nights beneath the stars. When you’re not hanging out in your chic pad, go out and explore the nearby sights. You’re just an eight-minute walk from Rose Hill Park and a fifteen-minute drive from Chinatown, while a twenty-minute car ride will take you to the Griffith Observatory and the bright lights of Hollywood.

Head to Good Housekeeping for a speakeasy experience
Good Housekeeping is a cosy, bare brick-walled bar behind Cafe Birdie. Solid whiskey list with a warm atmosphere. Enjoy!

Go bowling at Highland Park Bowl
The lanes were built in the 1920s and were beautifully restored a couple of years ago. Craft cocktails, wood-fired oven pizzas and friendly lanes make for a fun time.

Mingle with the locals at Gloria's Cuisine
Head to Gloria's for creative and ranging breakfast dishes, from a classic breakfast sandwich with barbacoa to the house waffle piled high with berries.

Find yourself off the beaten track at Apotheke
At Apotheke, you will find an unexpected refinement in an industrial area by the LA River. The design oozes elegance and the cocktails are to die for.

Sample the Californian cuisine at Amara
A hip spot for breakfast and lunch popular with locals. They also have a high-quality tea selection, including ceremonial grade matcha and Yorkshire Gold.
