Cornerstone effortlessly blends modern design with original Victorian features and mid-century aesthetics, and feels stylish, cosy and welcoming all at once. Striking the perfect balance between comfortable and cool, a casual sofa and armchair sit alongside a contemporary grey rug and a bright pink velvet ottoman. The bay windows and parquet flooring are also offset by a modern, fully-equipped kitchen and two luxury en-suite bathrooms. We loved the unique moulding on the living room ceiling, and the private terrace – an added bonus for London homes.

Home truths

The living area isn't huge - it would most comfortably sit three guests on the sofa and armchair

While there is a lift, it stops a half a level up from the flat so you don't really avoid many stairs as the flat is on the first floor

There is a low railing on the terrace so it's not a home for those travelling with young children

About Holland Park

Filled with mews streets, stucco mansions and green spaces, Holland Park is an idyllic neighbourhood sandwiched between Notting Hill, Kensington and Shepherd's Bush. Holland Park itself is one of London's most picturesque green spaces with a rich history. Today, the park boasts an open-air theatre and opera, Japanese-style Kyoto Gardens and a family playground. For dining, try Julie's and The Belvedere, and for a refreshing pint or aperol spritz, the Mitre and The Ladbroke Arms are a couple of great, classic British pubs in the area.
