Although Intendente is considered an up-and-coming area, it's still home to some of Lisbon's hippest bars and restaurants. One of the most colourful neighbourhoods in the city, all the must-see sights are within walking distance – including the historic Praça do Comércio only a twenty-minute stroll away – while Ramiro – possibly the best marisqueira in town – is just around the corner. With that in mind, this is an excellent spot to base yourself for a stay in Portugal's capital, and this breezy apartment doesn't disappoint. Fresh and modern, you'll love coming home to the open living space, whether you want to kick back on the sofa or rustle up a meal in the shiny kitchen. We love the eclectic style inside – we can only describe it as industrial rustic – and it's super bright, thanks to the large windows flooding the room in natural light. Your hosts can even arrange extras like at-home massages, fresh breakfast delivery and helicopter tours, so you'll be well looked after here.

Home truths

The hosts can provide a cot or high chair for an extra fee – just request when booking

This home is above a restaurant, so it can get noisy until 11pm at night

Two extra guests can sleep on the sofa bed in the living area, but it will be a squeeze with six guests

There’s no formal dining table, only the bar-style table

There’s also no elevator and this is on the second floor – it might not be the best option for those with limited mobility
