Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

The feeling of staying in this home which has been so well cared for is truly unbeatable. Balancing modernity with historical pieces is often hard to get right, but not in this home. The space has been newly renovated, but many repurposed materials have been included wherever possible, such as the coffee table made from the parquet flooring of another room. There's attention to detail at every turn, with an array of books, art and objects that act as a windows into the stories that have created the home. If you're a larger group of five or six, take a look at The Costas Siblings.

Home truths

This home is on the second and third floors of the building, so there are a lot of stairs to climb, and no lift available

The washing machine is in the master bedroom

There's no curtains on the living room windows, which means there's plenty of light during the day time, but it may lack a cosier feel in the evenings

Some of the kitchen appliances and cooking utensils could do with an update

You'll likely need some extra towels here

Just a note that the underfloor heating is in the bathrooms

Your host can provide fans upon request

This home isn't exactly central but is great if you're looking to live amongst the locals

About Hackney

Hackney – the name of this neighbourhood is now more likely to evoke the image of a hipster on a bicycle with a sourdough loaf stuffed in their satchel rather than anything else. Filled with great independent restaurants, cafes and pubs, this part of town is a delight to explore. The green expanses of London Fields and Victoria Park are pretty unbeatable on a summer's day and be sure to check out Broadway Market and Victoria Park Village too, where you'll wander through leafy streets of period houses, and rub shoulders with London's hip young arts and media types.
