Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Located in the part of Alfama that’s adjacent to a lot of the major sights, Sesame Street is a great option for travellers looking for a central yet charming Lisbon base. While it’s not the most characterful home in our books, it has plenty of charismatic details. The X-shaped wooden beams are an original feature, which is also very typical of Portuguese homes of this kind.

Home truths
The design is slightly lacking in character
The walls could do with a fresh coat of paint to cover up all of the scuff marks
We also noticed a crack on one of the shutters in the bedroom
There’s currently no home manual
It sleeps four guests, but two of them would be on a sofa bed in the living room
While it’s only on the first floor, there’s no lift, so be prepared for some up and down
It’s an old building and the bathroom doesn’t have any windows, so it doesn’t get a lot of natural ventilation (we noticed some small humidity stains on the walls, too)
