Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
In Lisbon’s Baixa district, in a pombalino building that’s over two centuries old, this home manages to retain a historical feel while incorporating every modern comfort imaginable. Just a four-minute walk from the medieval ruins of Convento do Carmo, history is all around. As you step into the foyer through stone arches, your hosts are ready to accommodate your every need. A welcome gift of fresh flowers will be waiting in your luxury loft, along with thoughtful little touches such as slippers. Your kitchen layout is a rustic dreamscape – wooden gaiolas reinforcing the stone walls, a distressed vintage table, and a quaint balcony overlooking the street below. But then your kitchen facilities are surprisingly modern – the sleek, white, glossy cabinets contrast the rich wood beautifully. Taking the stairs up to the lounge, this little nook has exposed beams and plush velvet armchairs. It’s a perfect spot for a chilled glass of vinho verde after dark. But there are yet more spots for relaxing in the bedroom. Forget the plush bed for a second and hop into the elegant freestanding tub. If you ever manage to make it out of your charming abode, the local area is equally as charming. The streets around you are filled with cafés, vibrant bars, and excellent Portuguese restaurants.
