Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Housed in a typically Italian, early 20th-century building, this apartment is the ideal bolthole in Rome for a group or family. Designed as a guesthouse, it has hotel-level comfort, like soundproofing and en-suites in every bedroom. Each bedroom also comes with a dedicated workspace, and there’s a fifth desk in the open-plan living room. The decor has a bit of mid-century flair with parquet floor, a turquoise sofa and geometrically patterned wallpaper. You’re in a quieter suburb of Rome here, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Streets are filled with local trattoria and cosy bars, but the main sights of the city are an easy metro ride away from nearby Re di Roma station.

Home truths

Even though there's a lift that'll get you to the flat, there's a full flight of stairs before you reach it

The living room only has one small sofa in it – not enough room for everyone to sit

Similarly, the kitchen feels more like a kitchenette

Up to three people can sleep on pullout beds across two of the bedrooms

There's a metro station nearby, but walking into the city centre will take at least half an hour

About Tuscolano

Beyond the railway station, Tuscolano doesn’t have architecture to match some of the other parts of the city, but its streets are filled with green, and it has several nice restaurants and a couple of lovely parks. It’s generally a very safe area, with great transport links as the metro runs into the city along Via Appia Nuova - you can get all the way to the Vatican without changing lines.
