Surrounded by cosy cafes and some of the most famous restaurants in Madrid, this apartment is perfect for those who want to delve into the culinary offering of the city. It’s also conveniently close to all of the major sights – city-centre boltholes don’t get much better than this. The interior is comfortable and well designed, making this apartment a solid base for urban exploration. It faces onto a communal patio rather than the street, so you can expect a peaceful night’s sleep after a busy day seeing the sights. The neutral shades in the living and sleeping spaces add to the calm vibe, while the bold red of the kitchen ties in the fiery passion of the city. The apartment is in a great location so you can easily explore on foot, but it’s still handy to have the Chueca metro stop a one-minute walk away – you’ll be glad of it after a day shopping the city’s boutiques. We like to stroll to Plaza Mayor first thing. This bustling square is the heart of the city, rich in history and a lively spot for a bite to eat and your morning coffee. Stroll there in fourteen minutes and... find a cosy table on a sunny terrace, and watch the world go by. For a spot of culture, spend a few hours at the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. It’s twelve minutes from the apartment and boasts work from Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Monet, Degas and Van Gogh, all laid out in a marvellous museum. In the evening, walk seven minutes to Gran Via, the street that never sleeps. The nightlife is fantastic, whether you’re looking to party until dawn or are more into sipping wine while sampling tapas. After a night on the town, you’ll be more grateful than ever to have such a restful apartment to return to.
