In terms of interior, it doesn’t get much more Parisian than this. The floor to ceiling bookshelves whisper of poets and authors, and antique velvet chairs look like they’re straight out of the 18th century. The living room is crowned with a gilded mirror and livened up with ferns and pot plants. A wall of windows lets the natural light stream in and glass doors lead to a private balcony overlooking the residential area. The neighbourhood is blissfully quiet, set back from the city centre yet just a twenty-minute stroll to the Eiffel Tower. If you fancy a bit more tranquillity to your city break, the sprawling parklands (once a royal hunting ground) of Bois de Boulogne is a fifteen-minute walk.
