With the stunning green expanse of Retiro only a few blocks away and Madrid's most famous designer boutiques around the corner, Sol Invictus will set you up to see the best of the city straight away. This home has a fairytale air about it, courtesy of the golden details and antique imagery. The transparent doors between the bedrooms and the living room help the natural light get through, but they also mean that there isn't much privacy – maybe not the best option for a business trip. But for a group of friends or a family, it's a great, comfortable stay.

Salamanca is Madrid’s most glamorous and prestigious quarter. Usually associated with aristocratic façades, wide avenues, and luxurious living (atypical for Madrid’s cosy centre), the neighbourhood attracts domestic and international elite.
